Project Spotlight: Building Efficiency for the Future — Sandy City Public Works Facility

The Sandy Public Works Building represents a major step forward in the city’s operational capabilities — delivering a high-performance fleet maintenance facility designed to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability for years to come.

This redevelopment project, led by Forge Construction, aligns with Sandy City’s long-term operational goals by replacing outdated infrastructure with a modern, purpose-built facility capable of supporting the city’s growing service needs.

Rebuilding for Progress

The project began with the demolition of several aging structures, clearing the way for a transformative facility that reflects Sandy City’s commitment to continual improvement and innovation.

The new building features concrete tilt-up and masonry construction, equipped with an overhead crane for heavy fleet servicing, integrated fleet bays, administrative offices, and dedicated storage areas. Every space was carefully designed to improve workflow, support efficient vehicle maintenance, and accommodate future growth.

Complementing the main structure are a series of site improvements — including new walkways, retaining walls, advanced drainage systems, and sustainable landscaping — all contributing to a durable, accessible, and environmentally responsible complex.

A Collaborative Build from Start to Finish

Forge Construction partnered closely with Sandy City officials and multiple project contractors to ensure seamless coordination throughout every phase of the build. From shop drawings and submittals to on-site management, safety oversight, and scheduling, the Forge team maintained clear communication and steady progress.

This proactive approach resulted in a streamlined closeout process, complete with warranty tracking and a smooth facility turnover, ensuring the city’s teams could begin operations without delay.

Client Perspective

“Sandy City’s experience with Forge Construction on our city's Fleet Building Maintenance Facility project was outstanding — with quality work, completed as promised, and on budget,” said Mayor Monica Zoltanski. “Forge represents the best of what a local, rising firm can bring to major government projects.”

A Lasting Investment in City Infrastructure

The completion of the Sandy Public Works Building underscores the city’s dedication to sustainable operations and long-term resilience. By combining advanced construction methods with Forge’s commitment to precision and partnership, the project stands as a model for how municipalities can modernize their infrastructure while maintaining fiscal responsibility and community value.
